Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On May 17, 2025, Missoula Police Department officers responded to the parking lot of 3840 Mullan Rd. for a report of a male walking around with a knife. The 911 caller reported the knife as being five to six inches in length. He reported the suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Jordan Halvorson-Barham, was slashing multiple tires of vehicles in the parking lot. He also reported that Jordan had approached him with a large army knife in one hand and an axe in the other and asked if he wanted to duel.

The first officer to arrive was flagged down by Jane Doe, who said Jordan was in a second-story apartment. Doe stated that she was in the parking lot when she observed Jordan walking around vehicles with a knife in his hand. Doe stated she then heard a loud hissing sound coming from multiple vehicle tires.

Doe stated Jordan approached her, the 911 caller, and another male in the parking lot. Doe reported Jordan approaching the three of them, while holding the knife and hatchet, to ask if they wanted to duel. The male reported he was afraid that Jordan would attack them with the weapons and that he felt he would need to disarm him.

Officers Contact Jordan

Once other officers arrived, they made verbal contact with Jordan at the back door of his apartment. Jordan was compliant and placed under arrest without issue. Jordan eventually gave his consent for officers to enter his apartment to retrieve the hatchet, knife, and cellphone.

An officer asked Jordan what had happened that made people call 911. Jordan replied, "I asked the entire world if they wanted to challenge me, and I said, if you don't want a duel, you better go inside. Some people stayed outside after I issued the order. So, I accepted that as a challenge."

When asked why he had come out of his apartment with a knife, Jordan responded, "I noticed those three cars were in my spot." When asked what happened with the tires, Jordan stated, “I released it. The pressure." When asked how he did that, Jordan stated, "Well, I used a pocket knife in case of an emergency." According to court documents, officers overall found four vehicles that had damage to their tires.
