If you've been on the fence about adopting a younger pet, a visit to the shelter might finally persuade you.

It was another Take Me Home Tuesday at the radio stations, sponsored by our animal loving friends at Paul's Pancake Parlor in Missoula. And while we normally focus on one specific animal waiting for its forever home, Janet from the Humane Society of Western Montana wanted to emphasize the tremendous volume of not only kittens and puppies, but adult animals as well. Check out the many shapes, sizes, colors and mixed breeds. You just might find yourself bonding with one or more of them.

However, we could not resist letting you sneak a peek at the little one she brought with her (pictured). Some noticeable Siamese mix in there, and oh, those beautiful blue eyes!

And how about a sample of puppies also waiting to meet you!

SEPTEMBER: Adorable Puppies Available for Adoption at the Humane Society of Western Montana

Look at those little paws and little ears! These pups are available for adoption as of September 17, 2024. Learn more at this link.

The shelter is so full, they are currently seeking foster homes for kittens who are too young to be vaccinated, spayed or neutered yet. So they are asking for a minimal amount of your time as foster pet parents.

And the Humane Society also has their Seniors for Seniors program. That's where older adults can adopt older pets with no adoption fees. Janet says a lot of older adults are not looking for a kitten or puppy, or even a younger dog or cat, as they don't want the animals to outlive them, and then be without a place to go.

The Humane Society of Western Montana is open 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays (closed Friday, September 20), at 5930 Highway 93 South, Missoula. See and learn more here.
