Per usual, I was surfing Reddit this afternoon looking for fun events and stories to talk about on the air. I stumbled across a post on the Montana subreddit page that caught my attention, but if you saw monster truck mail carriers you'd have your attention grabbed too.

Montana Mail Runner: custom Ford Model A Convertible for rugged routes
byu/CheesusChristMyDude inWeirdWheels

Look at that bad boy. That is an old-school Model T Ford that was used to haul around our mail once upon a time. A user posted an article in the comments to a website called "Geekbobber" which curated collections of bikes, images, ideas, other vehicles and more. Geekbobber provided background on how this mail carrier came to be.

This car was modified in 1936 by Roman Chupp of Bloomfield Montana for Milton Hill, also of Bloomfield Montana. Milton used it to deliver rural mail around Bloomfield Montana which is in northeastern Montana. - Geekbobber

I'm picturing this Roman Chupp fella sitting at home after a full day of delivering mail through snow-laden rural Montana. He pours himself a whiskey and tells his wife, "I just can't do it anymore. If I get stuck in the snow one more time the post office is going up in flames." Then, it hits him to remodel the Model A convertible monster truck to equip it to trek through a blizzard.

Let's put these tanks back into rotation for Montana mail carriers. No longer would the dog chase the mailman, but instead, the mailman would/could chase anyone and everyone. The mailman will reign supreme with their fleet of Mad Max machinery.

Let's make it happen, Montana legislature.
