5 Ideas For What Montana’s Offical “Greeting” Should Be

Arizona lawmakers introduced House Bill 2764 aiming at making the official state greeting: "Howdy."

Fun fact, the only state in the U.S. with an official greeting is Hawai'i with "Aloha," according to KJZZ in Phoenix.

Will Arizona be the next? Only time will tell if these lawmakers decide to act on this very important, earth-shattering bill that is most definitely needed for Arizona to move on.

Let's jump in on the fun. What would be a proper and apt official greeting in the state of Montana? I conjured up 5 greetings...

1) Yell-o

A laid-back spin on the traditional "hello." It sounds a little more rural and fitting to Montana. I even put a little extra mustard on it and said "Hmmmm-yello?"

2) Mernin'

Saying "good morning" over "good afternoon" or "good evening" is always the go-to. Something about "good morning" tops the rest of the days, and I like putting a little twangy twist on it by saying "Mernin." It sounds rugged, yet caring.

3) FTC/FTG

Depending on what side of the Divide you're on, but a nice "**** the Cats" or "**** the Griz," would make me chuckle. "Hey, Bill, how are you?" "Jim! **** the Cats, I'm doing well."
