Missoula, Be On The Look Out For An Animal Control Scam Alert
Scams, scams, scams and more scams. If it's not scams it's political calls and texts. That is the entirety of my texts and call logs. No longer do my friends and family reach out.
In all seriousness, unfortunately, the Missoula Animal Control Facebook page is warning residents of a text scam.
If you receive a text message from someone claiming to be from Animal Control, asking you to pay $50 so they can reunite you with your pet, do not respond. Animal Control will only send a text when trying to reach an owner with a full mailbox or voicemail that is not set up. - Missoula Animal Control via Facebook
Keep your head on a swivel, Missoula. Don't fall for the fake Animal Control. It's interesting that scammers are settling for $50. I don't know much about scamming but wouldn't you want more? However, I shouldn't be surprised at the lack of intelligence from individuals disguising themselves as animal control.

While you're at it give Missoula Animal Control a follow on Facebook or Instagram to help out in reuniting lost pets with their owners.
And since I'm on an animal-loving soapbox, visit the Human Society of Western Montana if you're in the market for a sweet pup, entertaining cat, or small friend. I just looked at our friends available for adoption, and let me tell you it was a bad idea because now I want to adopt one, like the 15-year-old cat named Bucca. Give Bucca a home for her final years, would you?
