Montana Is One of the Best Places to Live ‘Off-Grid’
Having the chance to get out in the woods in Montana is something special. We are lucky to live in a place that gives us so many opportunities to turn off and to tune out. To experience not having to rely on a screen, at least for a short while, can be wonderful. Montana is a great place to do just that.

Because Montana has some great places to engage in a "digital detox" it is also a great place to live "off grid" for those that are so inclined. Studyfinds.org, according to Modern Nomads, has put together a list of the best states for those that want to live "off-grid", and Montana is one of the states that has made their list. Montana is ranked number 5 on the list behind, Wyoming, Texas, Missouri and Tennessee.
"Off-Grid" Isn't a New Concept for Montana
Living "off-grid" is not a new concept to Montana. There was a very infamous person who was living that way in Montana, Ted Kaczynski, aka the "Unabomber". There is a new novel about him written by local author, Maxim Loskutoff, entitled "Old King". The book is listed as one of the Boston Globe and Minneapolis Start Tribune's best books of the summer.
There are homes that are for sale in Montana that are set up for "off-grid" living. One in particular that's for sale, doesn't give an official address, they give the area where the home is located. You need to contact the real estate agent to get the address.
