A few years ago, as I was heading to the "Rockin' the Rivers" concert and making my way through Three Forks, my friend Bill and I made a stop for some of the best and biggest cinnamon rolls around. As we were discussing how much we enjoyed our baked goods. He then brought up the  ”World Record”.

We Should Be Proud Of Our State

There are so many reasons for us to be proud of our state and this is another example of Montana setting itself apart from other states. We can have a world record holder in our backyard and not everyone knows about it.

The World Record Is Ours

Wheat Montana started in Three Forks, Montana in the 1990s. By 1995 they held a “World Record”. The Guinness Book of World Records recognizes Wheat Montana as holding the record for “Fastest Field to Loaf-Microwave". They were able to cut the wheat, mill the flour, mix the dough and cook thirteen loaves of bread in a microwave oven in 8 minutes and 13 seconds. This feat was accomplished on September 19, 1995. According to the Guinness Book of World Records website, that record still stands today, over 25 years later. One of my hobbies is baking and I can tell you that there is no way that I could make a loaf of bread in an hour and 13 seconds, let alone 8 minutes and 13 seconds.

They Have Expanded Over The Years

Wheat Montana over the years has expanded their products from flours and cereals to baked goods like buns and, of course, their cinnamon rolls. They continue to operate their original location in Three Forks, and they have added locations in Missoula, Great Falls and Kalispell. When you are in your grocery store and you see Wheat Montana products, know that they are not only "Montana Made", but they have made their mark on a global scale and it should be something we can all be proud of.
