What an action-packed Homecoming Weekend at the University of Montana. It featured good results in competition (football, volleyball, softball and soccer combined to go 5-1-1). Plus, we welcomed back tons of former Grizzlies including 70 former soccer players, former Griz quarterback and national champion John Edwards and countless more.

On top of that, we had a couple of celebrations with Friday night's pep rally at the Oval and Saturday morning's Homecoming parade (disclaimer: I forgot about the parade and almost missed the beginning of the pregame show because I had to reroute around the city). All of it led to a festive weekend that came at the right time. Fresh off the overtime loss at home VS Weber State, Homecoming was the spark Washington-Grizzly Stadium needed to reinvest in this team. It was a beautiful Saturday with leaves in peak color season and beautiful weather. Seriously, for mid-October that is as good as you're going to get.

Griz Football

Football bounced back with a 31-20 win over #24 Northern Arizona. The Griz defense held the Lumberjacks to just 7 second half points and quarterback Logan Fife scored 4 touchdowns (3 on the ground, 1 through the air). Montana heads into the bye week next.

Griz Soccer

Grizzly Soccer remains atop the Big Sky Conference after beating Idaho on Thursday 2-1 and drawing Eastern Washington 1-1 on Sunday. Jen Estes scored both goals on Thursday, she has a team-high 6 in her first and only season in Missoula, and Washington Husky transfer Chloe Seelhoff scored the lone goal on Sunday.

Griz Volleyball

Griz Volleyball had an all-time hitting performance in their sweep of the Idaho Vandals before dropping Saturday night's match VS Eastern Washington.

Griz Softball

In their debut under new Head Coach Stef Ewing, Grizzly Softball defeated the local NAIA teams Carroll and Providence on Sunday.
