I have always laughed at how much we love camping in Montana. How we pack up all of our things and pretend to be homeless for the weekend. Pitch a tent and cook food over a fire if you can afford the food. But, we inevitably pack everything up and go back to our comfy homes and our everyday lives. What about the people who don't have homes to go back to?

One Montana teenager is learning what it is like to be homeless on the streets of Detroit.

Ben Kesterke, of Seely Lake, is currently documenting a social experiment. Filming his everyday life as a homeless person in Detroit. This is not a "man down on his luck" story, as Ben chose to do this. He chose to experience homelessness as a means of personal growth. He calls it a "self-development experience."

According to Ben's YouTube channel

My name is Ben Kesterke. I am 17 years old and in this series, I am going homeless in Detroit Michigan with nothing but my camera, phone, and the clothes on my back.

Ben is currently near the end of his project. As he continues to film his daily struggle of being homeless. You can watch how each day progresses and his daily accomplishments grow. Watch as Ben earns enough money to buy McDonalds. Or when he upgrades his bike so he can earn more money. It is wild to see a young man chose to leave the heart of Montana to live on the streets of Detroit.
