Popular Montana Soaking Spot Listed for Millions
A new listing in Montana might just convince you to quit your day job, liquidate your savings, and hit the robe-and-sandals circuit full-time. Officially for sale: Lost Trail Hot Springs, the rustic resort nestled in the forest outside Sula. Price tag? A steamy $5.75 million.
Before you panic and book one last soak, take a deep breath of pine-scented mountain air; the resort isn’t going away. Stann Honey, who co-owns the joint with his mother Mary Dell and has run it with her since 1993, says they’ll keep the doors open, whether or not it sells. Translation: Your weekend soak plans remain secure. For now.
The resort itself might as well be Montana nostalgia. Founded in the 1890s, it has been attracting hot spring lovers for generations. It features a full restaurant and bar, a 20’ x 60’ geothermally heated pool, ten log cabins, an eight-room hotel, and four condo-style rooms.
If you’ve ever visited, you get the vibe. It’s the kind of place locals rave about and nonlocals discover once and then brag about forevermore. But now that the realtor has put the place on the market, we’re a bit worried someone will gentrify it with a luxury “wellness escape” filled with cucumber water and hot yoga classes. So, fingers crossed, it remains the sort of place where you can drink a beer in the pool without judgment.
So, if you’ve been wanting to go, this is your sign. Grab a swimsuit, a favorite towel, and your best friends. Maybe pass the hat and get some buddies to go in on the $5 million?
