FEMA Explains National EAS Test
On November 9th at 2 pm Eastern time, radio and television stations all over America will be participating in a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System. Many are concerned that the test will cut off communications with radio, television and the internet for 3 minutes or more. I spoke with FEMA External Affairs Specialist from the Regional office in Denver Jerry DeFelice about the scheduled test. That interview is attached.
The test will be for 30 seconds..not 3 minutes. Our radio stations run local EAS tests once a week. This will simply be a nationwide test, according to Mr. DeFelice.
