Yellowstone National Park released its September numbers recently and park spokesman Al Nash says they have beaten yet another visitation record:

"We just released our visitation for the month of September. It was our biggest September ever! We've really had a strong visitation year for 2014, in fact, we've received more visitation for the first nine months of 2014 then we did for the full 2013 calendar year."

Even with a record month, the park is still about a third of a million short of beating the all-time record.

"So the record was 2010 and that was 3.64 million recreational visits. We're already one of the busiest years on record for Yellowstone. I really don't expect that we're going to have the record year this year."

At its current pace, Yellowstone National Park is set to have, at least,  its fourth highest visitation levels of all-time this year.
