A 42-year-old Helena man charged with surreptitiously videotaping underage girls has pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual exploitation of children. A plea agreement with Raymond Dean Smith called for the dismissal of another sexual exploitation charge as well as child pornography charges. Sentencing is set for Dec. 16.

Smith pleaded guilty in February to entering a residence without permission and hiding in the closet of a relative's 6-year-old daughter. When he failed to report to jail, officers searched his house, where they found video tapes investigators said contained child pornography images Smith had produced of various girls  under age 18.

One video was shot through the bathroom window of the girl's house and another was shot through a hole between Smith's bedroom and a bathroom.
