Woman Makes Plea Deal in 2010 Billings Shootout
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A plea agreement has been reached in the case of a Billings woman accused of shooting another woman in the eye during a gunfight in 2010.
The attempted murder trial of 27-year-old Crystal Lee Lundberg had been scheduled to get under way Monday.
The Billings Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/GUATGg ) that prospective jurors were dismissed after the sides reached the plea deal.
Lundberg had pleaded not guilty to charges related to the Dec. 20, 2010, shootout outside a Billings storage facility.
Lindsey Marie Schmaing was shot in the eye. Her husband, Steven Jay Schmaing, was previously given a three-year deferred sentence for returning fire.
