The Missoula County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the victim in Saturday's fatal accident in the Reserve Street bridge.

She has been identified as Kelita LexiLee Gonzales Strope, 24. The car was reportedly driven by her husband Johnathan Gonzales. It is not known if the victim was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

 

Saturday morning at approximately 6:39 am, Missoula City Police, Missoula City Fire, & Missoula Emergency Services responded to the report of a two-vehicle crash on the Reserve St. Bridge.

Preliminary investigation at the scene reveals that a compact car occupied by an adult male (25) driver, and an adult female (24) passenger were travelling northbound on Reserve St.

The compact car appears to have crossed the center line where it was struck by a southbound pick-up truck occupied by an adult male (57)driver.  The two vehicles came to rest against the West Guardrail, on the southbound side of Reserve St.

The three persons involved in the crash were transported to St. Patrick’s Hospital where it was determined that the female passenger had succumbed to her injuries and is deceased.

The extent of injury for the two male drivers is as yet unknown, but at this time they do not appear to be life-threatening.

The investigation is on-going at the scene; as such no further information is available at this time, but more may follow as it becomes known.
