Woman Killed In Cassia County Traffic Crash
Authorities say a northern Idaho woman is dead and her husband and two children suffered minor injuries after the car she was driving overturned and collided with a semitrailer on Interstate 84 east of Malta.
The crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. Monday. The Idaho State Police identified the victim as 23-year-old Jennifer Shira of Kooskia.
Authorities say Shira was driving westbound on I-84 when she lost control of the vehicle and it entered the median. The car then overturned and went into the eastbound lanes, where it collided with a semitrailer.
The truck's driver was uninjured. Shira's passengers — her husband and two young children — were taken to a hospital in Burley with minor injuries.
State Police officials say everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
