Police in Missoula say a woman told officers she woke up after a party feeling like she had been physically assaulted, but she can't remember what happened.

The woman's report to police on Thursday came the same day the University of Montana launched an investigation into allegations that two female students may have been given a date-rape drug and sexually assaulted by male students.

Detective Sgt. Travis Welsh said Friday the woman went to police on Thursday afternoon to tell officers that she believed she had been physically assaulted, not sexually assaulted, during the Dec. 3 party.

Welsh says police are investigating the woman's report to determine whether a crime occurred. He says he does not know who was hosting the party.
