Missoula Police were busy with DUI cases over the weekend, including an incident where a woman drove into a fence. Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

"Officers responded a report of a hit and run accident that occurred on the 1700 block of Cooley Street just before 10 p.m. Saturday night," Welsh said. "The investigation led to an adult female who, it was later discovered, was involved in a collision accident while  young child was seated in the back seat of her vehicle."

Marilyn Rose Wilson was given a DUI and taken into custody for felony Criminal Child Endangerment, but that wasn’t the only felony related to intoxicated driving that evening.

"Now just prior to that at about 8:30 pm in the 200 block of S. California Street and an officer observed  two people in what he felt was a suspicious circumstance," Welsh said. "As he approached the couple they got back in a car and attempted to leave. The officer stopped the couple and made contact with the driver and he was subsequently arrested for a DUI."

35-year-old Edward Clark was also charged with “Displaying License Plates Assigned to Another Vehicle,” which was the suspicious activity that led the officer to begin an investigation of the vehicle.
