Woman Charged With Breaking Her 7-Week Old Baby’s Bones

21 year-old Ashli Lee Mcdonald was charged in Missoula justice court on Wednesday with two felony counts of assault on a minor, after taking her 7 week old baby boy to Community Medical Center’s emergency room with turned out to be a broken leg. Deputy County Attorney Shaun Donovan says the child was found to have other previous injuries..

Donovan says the child will be an a body cast for about four weeks while his bones heal. Prosecutors agreed to release Mcdonald on her own recognizance and will be allowed supervised visitation. The baby boy has been placed with the Department of Child and Family Services.
