Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks officials will be meeting in Helena on Thursday to discuss the upcoming wolf hunting season in Montana. Public affairs Director Ron Aasheim says over 6500 public comments came pouring in regarding wolf hunting, with most comments concentrating on the trapping of wolves.

A vast majority of the public comments were opposed to the trapping of wolves, while trappers themselves are urging wildlife officials to allow snares as well as leg-traps. Wolf hunting was allowed in Montana after Congress removed wolves from the  Endangered Species Act. Aasheim says the meetings will begin in Helena Thursday morning at 8:30.
