Because of HR policies and existing contracts with other employers, some of this information is a bit slow in being announced.

But new University of Montana head football coach Bobby Hauck can now officially let a couple more guys run out of the smoky tunnel at Washington-Grizzly Stadium and welcome them to his coaching staff. One is new to the Griz program and the other has a long and interesting history.

Coach Hauck announced the hiring of former Sacramento State assistant coach C.J. Cox as the new Griz cornerbacks coach. C.J. and the coach have a long history together, as Cox played for and then coached under Coach Hauck at UNLV. He is a native of Garland, Texas, so it will be interesting to see if that opens any new gates for recruitment in the Lone Star State.

And returning to the Griz after a long hiatus, old-school Griz fans will recognize the name Barry Sacks, who comes back to Montana as the new defensive line coach, bringing over 30 years of coaching experience with him. Barry played for the Griz under Jack Swarthout from 1976-79. I told ya it would take old-school Griz fans to remember! And this guy's love for Missoula and the Grizzly program is absolutely infectious.

So welcome, guys! Can't wait till that first smoky tunnel run September 1.
