A temporary home for the 200  disease free bison could cost between $246,000 and $1.1 million, if they have to be placed on state land. The bison currently live in a federal quarantine facility, and on media mogul Ted Turner's ranch near Bozeman. FWP  spokesman Ron Aasheim says four locations are now being looked at as temporary homes for the animals and recognizes the eyes of Montana are watching..

Aasheim says possible re-locations sites could be the Spotted Dog Wildlife Management Area, the Marius River Wildlife area or the Fort Peck and Fort Belknap Indian Reservations.
