Thanksgiving travelers can look forward to a pretty warm weather system in Montana, however, National Weather Service Meteorologist Corby Dickerson says drivers heading out tomorrow could run into a few trouble areas.

"It you're traveling north it shouldn't be too bad," said Dickerson. "If you are heading west it shouldn't be too bad. Plan for maybe a little bit of snow over lookout pass. If you are heading over Lolo pass maybe some snow. Your biggest complications are going to be if you're heading out on Wednesday evening towards Bozeman and those areas. Plan for some snow heading out of Butte and moving over the mountain passes pretty much half way to Billings."

Dickerson says the tougher weather will move north on Thursday, but that the real difficult conditions may be on the return trip.

"The bigger challenge may come on peoples return," Dickerson said. "Basically what we are looking at is a better chance for snow across all elevations as we move through the weekend and into the next work week. We are seeing a broader pattern change across the entire northwestern United States to a bigger troff. The snow level is going to stay down and the chance for seeing snow showers is going to increase."

Although some snow is likely to fall over the next week, most of it is in higher elevations and a big snow system is not expected.
