MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — A warrant has been issued for a man who says he is innocent of sexual assault charges after his petition was rejected by the Montana Supreme Court.

Dale Hanson was convicted in 1995 of sexual assault and deviant sexual conduct. He served 10 years in prison for crimes against a child.

After he was released, he refused to register as a sex offender and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Hanson has refused to surrender.

According to the Missoulian (http://tinyurl.com/j9bmx8e ), the Montana Innocence Project took up his case believing he was not guilty, but the court's ruling does not leave much room for appeal.

Hanson's lawyers have said the state suppressed evidence favorable to their client.
