The Chrandal Creek fire has now grown to over 2,250 acres and remains at 40% containment. Fire information officer Tom Rhode says the fire has spread to the south, but is beginning to turn back on itself, burning the dry fuel between the two fire lines.

Over 400 personnel are working the fire that continues to burn in Montana and Idaho, and so far has cost the taxpayers over $4 million dollars to fight.
