Unrest in Egypt – A Missoula Perspective [AUDIO]

A mob has stormed the United States Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, where the American flag was torn down and replaced by a black flag that read ‘There is no God but Allah, and Mohammad is his messenger’.
According to the Reuters news agency, the mob was upset over a film being produced in the U. S. that insulted Mohammad the Prophet.
Former Ambassador Mark Johnson is the director of the Montana World Affairs Council, and once worked in the same embassy that was stormed by a mob of teens and young adults led by a ‘soccer mob’ called ‘The Ultras’. Johnson says the deteriorating economic and political situation in Egypt is mainly responsible for the unrest, motivating young people to lash out, and America is their favorite scapegoat.
