University of Montana suspended football player Trevor Poole received an 18 month deferred sentence Tuesday on a drug charge.

The 20 year-old offensive tackle appeared in district court where he apologized to his family friends, the university and fellow members of the football team. Poole was arrested at a disco rave party after he purchased ecstasy, and was suspended from the team indefinitely.

University of Montana Athletic Director Kent Haslam says once the legal issues are resolved completely, Poole can appeal his suspension in front the the athletic conduct team, which would make the decision on reinstatement.
