Walter Payton Award candidate Jordan Johnson will not play for the Montana Grizzlies in Saturday's game against Central Washington University.

Associate Athletic Director for Sports Information Dave Guffey confirmed on Friday morning that quarterback Jordan Johnson was injured during the Montana versus Wyoming game last week

, and will miss the game on Saturday against the Wildcats.

Guffey would not reveal the nature of Johnson's injuries, due to University of Montana policy.

Johnson's backup is 6-4, 219 pound senior quarterback Shay Smithwick-Hann. Johnson was 24-45 for 185 yards and one touchdown against Wyoming.

Game time on Saturday is 3:37 p.m. inside Washington Grizzly Stadium.
