Two suspects led police on a chase through Missoula Monday night that ended with over 16 different charges.

"Just before 8:00 p.m. an officer was in the area of the 1600 block of Cooley Street investigating some possible drug activity when he observed a vehicle leaving the area," said Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh. "As he observed, the vehicle made an improper signal to turn and the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but instead of stopping or pulling over as required by law, the vehicle sped off and the officer chased it."

The vehicle chase went from the Northside of town right through the heart of the city and ended not far from the Fairgrounds.

"The vehicle pulled in, eventually, to a shopping center near the intersection of Oxford and Brooks where the two occupants jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot," Welsh said. "They were quickly apprehended and are currently in custody, identified as 39-year-old Joseph Waters and 35-year-old Casey Zucconi."

The drugs involved appear to be methamphetamine. Waters received three felony charges: one for the drugs, one for Criminal Endangerment, and another for failing to register as a sexual or violent offender. He was caught carrying a concealed weapon and switch blades. Zucconi was wanted on a drug warrant from Yellowstone County and also cited for obstruction.
