Two Poisoned Eagles Recover, Return to Wild

LOLO, Mont. (AP) — Two bald eagles suffering from apparent poisoning have recovered and are back in the wild.

The Missoulian reports one was released Tuesday and the other Thursday.

They were found late last week lying in pastures in the Bitterroot Valley.

Brooke Tanner of Wild Skies Raptor Rehabilitation in Missoula says the birds might have gotten into poisoned bait left for coyotes or wolves or fed on euthanized livestock.

Lisa Rhodin, manager of the center, says it's unclear what kind of poison they ingested.
