BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — Montana State officials say two men's basketball players are leaving the team.

Forward Shawn Reid of Post Falls, Idaho tells the Bozeman Daily Chronicle he asked for and was granted his release from the program. He will leave the school at the end of the spring semester.

Reid says neither his role nor the team's 23-35 record over the past two seasons were primary factors in his decision. He averaged 10.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in earning honorable mention all-Big Sky Conference honors this winter.

He says the decision was "more just based on my happiness." He says he's looking for another school where he can play basketball.

MSU officials also confirm that former walk-on guard Tor Anderson of Savage, Minn., is leaving the program.

He played in 14 games last season and scored nine points, but was hampered by a nagging leg injury.
