Two new bike parks are in the works for Missoula and the plans have been made public.  Garrick Swanson with Missoula County Parks, Trails and Open Lands says one of the bike parks will be at Bellview Park, which sits at the intersection of 39th and Paxson Street.

“Bellview Park, this is a bike skilled area geared toward young youth 3 to 8,” said Swanson. “It will include two separate pump tracks, one with gentle two to three foot rollers and the second is a outer loop that has some more challenging bike skill features.”

The Syringa bike park will be up on Lincoln Hills Drive and will be designed with more advanced skills in mind.

“It will accommodate all bike skill levels; beginner, intermediate, and advanced,” Swanson said. “The park will consist of a central gathering area and it will include a beginner pump track, intermediate pump track, and an advanced pump park as well as a progressive jump line.”

An open comment period on the parks will run till April 22.  Swanson said the parks are waiting for funding and will likely not be built this year.
