Montana Highway Patrol dispatchers have confirmed that two people were killed in a head-on crash that occurred at about 11:30 pm Saturday.

The accident happened on Montana Highway 471 near Thompson Falls. A 32 year-old Thompson Falls man driving a Saturn was killed  along with his 23 year-old female passenger. Both were wearing seat belts. A passenger in the Saturn was injured. A 46 year-old Thompson Falls man driving a Toyota pickup was injured. He was also wearing a seat belt.

It is not known at this time if speed or alcohol were involved in the accident, which is still under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol. The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of relatives.
