A Troy man faces sentencing later this month for beating his sleeping wife with a baseball bat, breaking every bone in her head.

The Western News reports that 36-year-old Joshua Junior Peterson is scheduled to be sentenced on May 19 after pleading guilty to aggravated assault. The agreement recommends a 25-year sentence with seven suspended, but District Judge James Wheelis could sentence him to up to 30 years.

Peterson was initially charged with attempted deliberate homicide, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon for the September beating of Tracee Peterson that left her hospitalized for nearly two months.
