I am not a big fan of everything about Valentine’s Day. Don’t get me wrong, I like chocolate to a point, and I like flowers O.K. The one thing I do enjoy about this disgustingly romantic day though is the dinner date. We are all so lucky to reside in Missoula where we have plenty of fabulous restaurants to choose from. The question is, where do you take your honey to pig out on this special day?

According to Urban Spoon, these are the top- rated Missoula romantic restaurants.

Red Bird is the cream-of-the crop when it comes to scrumptious concoctions. One of the best things about this restaurant is that their menu is constantly changing to reflect the seasons and the holidays, so you will always be surprised by the new dishes every visit. Red Bird serves only naturally-grown, high-quality Missoula-grown fruits and vegetables. All of the chicken, duck, beef, pork and lamb that are served are raised locally. Fresh, fresh, fresh! The Red Bird is located at 111 N. Higgins Suite 100.

Iza comes in at a close second for Missoula’s favorite restaurant choice. So what if this eatery was only established in 2009? They have made a name for themselves already. Iza’s goal is to provide a memorable Asian experience for food lovers in Missoula. Of course they use local Montana products to create their all-natural masterpieces. In addition to their wonderful dishes, they also have an extensive list of sake, wine, beer and tea offerings. As if that isn’t enough, Iza Asian Restaurant is the first Missoula restaurant to offer homemade Boba Tea (tea with sweet tapioca pearls), also known as Bubble Tea. If you take your date here, you cannot forget to order the Boba Tea. You won’t regret it! Iza Asian Restaurant is located at 529 South Higgins Avenue.

If you are looking for a unique tasting experience, take your Valentine’s date to The Silk Road. With a menu full of international-fusion choices, you can’t go wrong. Dining at The Silk Road is a somewhat interactive experience, as they ask their guests to vote for each season’s Global Tasting Menu. This unique practice ensures that you will always be able to enjoy your favorite dishes during each visit. The Silk Road is located at 515 Higgins Avenue.

Blue Canyon is one of my personal favorites in the Missoula area. I have tried multiple menu items, and have NEVER been disappointed. At Blue Canyon, you will find creative, American cooking at its finest. According to their website, the award-winning food will “entertain your taste buds.” If you are looking for succulent surf and turf, don’t you dare go anywhere but Blue Canyon. Blue Canyon is located at 3720 N Reserve Street.

If you are ballin’ on a budget, you really can’t top Bridge Pizza. While I wouldn’t consider Bridge to be a fine-dining, sit-down restaurant, in my opinion, you really can’t find better pizza and pasta anywhere in town. They are notorious for integrating unique ingredients into all their recipes, making their dishes explode with flavor. Another plus is that they deliver – quickly might I add. So, if you are planning a low key Valentine’s Day this year, say dinner and a movie on the couch, this is your best option for an outstanding meal. You still won’t get away without having to tip though! Bridge Pizza is located at 600 S. Higgins.

If you really want to make a good impression to your Valentine’s date this year, take her or him to one of these fantastic eateries. This many Missoulians CAN’T be wrong!
