Glacier National Park will celebrate two national holidays this Saturday. Park Spokesman Tim Raines gives details on how the park will be celebrating with its visitors.

"Saturday is National Public Lands Day at Glacier National Park," Raines said. "Its a fee free day so you'll be able to access the park. Obviously when you are coming in the entrance gates go ahead and stop at the stop signs, to stop say hello and get your park information, but its a free day so come and enjoy your national park. It's also the first ever annual National Bike Your Park day as well."

According to Raines this weekend will be the perfect weekend to take in the scenery.

"Just when you come in the West entrance the leaves are turning bright orange and red beautiful," Raines said. "Then if you start to wind your way up the hill they're turning red. So I think if I had to pick a gorgeous weekend to go tour the park, I think this weekend has all of the right elements, it's very idyllic. The superintendent popped in the other day and he said he had never seen the park look so beautiful in his life."

With more visitors expected to be in the park this weekend, Raines is advising motorist to allow three feet between their vehicle and cyclists.
