According to the new Public Policy Polling poll Senator Jon Tester trails Congressman Denny Rehberg by two points (Rehberg leads 47 to 45).  Tester's 51-39 approval margin is essentially unchanged from when the PPP last took a look at the state about a week after last November's election, when it was 50-40. In a different interview Denny Rehberg’s campaign manager,  Erik Iverson explains why Rehberg decided to run for  Senator Tester’s seat.

Iverson says that having Montana represented by two Democrats,  Senator Tester and Senator Baucus limits the state, and Montana’s residents want a new approach.
