Senator Jon Tester has successfully removed wolves in Montana from the endangered species list. Congress approved tester’s plan to return management of wolves in Montana to the State. Tester’s bipartisan plan means that Montana’s managed wolf hunts can now continue. Tester’s plan is part of the continuing resolution to fund the government through fiscal year 2011.

Tester’s bipartisan measure restores a rule by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that de-listed Montana’s and Idaho’s wolves. The legislation was sponsored in the House of Representatives by congressman Mike Simpson of Idaho.
