A Colorado teen accused of brutally attacking a 66-year-old northern Idaho woman has pleaded guilty to a felony.

17-year-old Joseph J. Martin of Denver faces up to two decades years in prison at his May sentencing.

Authorities say Martin and another teen, Marshall Dittrich of Danville, Calif., ran away from a boarding school in Montana and were hitchhiking last July when Vera Gadman, of Hope, Idaho, offered them a ride in her vehicle.

Deputies say Gadman was choked with a cord and hit with a bottle before she managed to flee the attack.

Martin pleaded guilty Friday to battery with intent to commit robbery.

Dittrich faces the same charge and a four-day trial is scheduled to start April 9 in Idaho's Bonner County.
