On February 6, former Montana State Senator Corey Stapleton announced that he would be running for the U.S. Senate. The announcement came through twitter, and YouTube, as well as a newly designed web site.
In June, Montana voters may have the opportunity to change the way Montana Supreme Court Justices are chosen. The bill, LR-119 also known as the "Fair Court Referendum" would make it so that Montana Supreme Court justices are elected by region rather than in a State-wide election.
Today (January 12) marks the first day that Montana candidates can offically sign up to get their names on the ballot for the next election cycle. Among the candidates gathering in Helena today is Denny Rehberg who will be challenging Senator John Tester for his U.S. Senate seat
