Missoula may be trying to condemn Mountain Water Company, but testimony in court today was mostly about how well the city runs the things it is already responsible for.
Missoula Mayor John Engen is taking issue with a report released Friday by the Missoulian newspaper, which was then picked up statewide by the Associated Press, regarding the legal and other costs incurred so far in acquiring the Mountain Water Company.
On Friday morning, Mayor John Engen was informed that the Carlyle Group had agreed to sell Missoula's Mountain Water Company to a Canadian company, Algonquin Power and Utilities Company in Ontario.
Today, May 28, 38 employees of Mountain Water Company filed a motion to force the City of Missoula to include them in the condemnation lawsuit proceedings against their company.
