This week, Governor Steve Bullock issued a directive to allow Montanans to vote safely in the upcoming June 2 primary election by expanding voting opportunities.
The July 2 deadline to file for election to the Missoula City Council passed at the close of business Thursday at the county elections office, and only one race has enough candidates to qualify for a primary.
Missoula County Commissioners began tallying votes in a recount Friday morning for Senate District 49 between Democrat Diane Sands, the electee, and Republican Dick Haines who petitioned for a bonded recount.
