The Campus at Montana State University in Bozeman was in lock down for several hours on Thursday after an employee who was about to be fired threatened to harm himself and others.
Superintendent Bud Scully with the Florence Carlton School District said on Tuesday, the day after a threat caused a modified lockdown, that communication was the key issue for school officials and parents during the incident
Hamilton Middle School went into lock down mode this morning, October 7, because of a bear.
According to FWP Wildlife Management Specialist Jamie Jonkle, the incident is due to a bear cub that climbed an apple tree near the school.
Children were not allowed outside for recess and were escorted from building to building during classroom changes...
Update: 11:40 - According to Campus Police, the lockdown has ended, however, it is still unclear if the individual with a rifle had been apprehended, or simply deemed not to be a threat.
