The Adams Center saw both Montana teams win Friday night, as the Lady Griz defeated North Dakota 60-39. Montana thrived on great shooting, as they appear to have broken out of their season's first half offensive slump. The Lady Griz shot 45.9 % and scored a season-high number of points in a 79-64 win over Southern Mississippi on the opening night of the Lady Griz Holiday Classic at Missoula. Montana (6-6) hit eight of its 20 three point attemts.

The Lady Griz took care of the Lady Bulldogs of Montana-Western, 70-50 at home in the Adams Center last night.

In a tight game that featured 11 lead changes, Montana's Torry Hill had the decisive play, a three pointer with 25 seconds remaining that broke a 57-57 tie to lead the Lady Griz to a 61-60 victory over Utah State last night at Dahlberg Arena.

Only 7 out of 333 NCAA Division 1 women's basketball teams can claim dual credit for 1-making the NCAA Tournament and 2-making the WBCA Academic Top 25 Honor Roll as well. The Lady Griz were the 15th seed in the tournament and the team held a 3.411 GPA throughout the season. What a great year it's been for the University of Montana's womens' athletic teams. The basketball team claimed an improbable Big Sky Conference championship and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. The cross country squad claimed their first Big Sky title since the 1980's.

Last night in Spokane, the women's basketball team from Gonzaga did what Montana couldn't just two days prior: upset the UCLA Bruins in the NCAA Tournament.
