Glacier National Park Buys 120 Acres Within Border

Search On In Glacier National Park, Hiker Missing

Officials in Glacier National Park say a search is under way for a 27-year-old seasonal park employee who did not return from a personal day hike in the southern part of the park.

Jacob Rigby was reported overdue at 2 a.m. Monday. His vehicle was found at the Fielding Trailhead along U.S. Highway 2, but air and ground searches Monday turned up no sign of him.

Bones, Clothing May Belong To Missing Glacier Hiker

Glacier National Park officials say bone fragments found in the park are being analyzed to see if they belong to a 27-year-old man who disappeared in the park three years ago.

Spokeswoman Denise Germann says a hiker found a portion of two items of clothing in early July that match the clothing worn by Yi-Jien Hwa, who was reported missing in August 2008. Hwa was a seminary student in Lexington, Ky., and a native of Malaysia.

Man Dies In Motorcycle Crash In Glacier

Officials in Glacier National Park say a Canadian man has died in a motorcycle crash on the Going-to-the-Sun Road.

Park rangers say that 70-year-old Richard Fish of Alberta, Canada was driving a motorcycle when it collided with a vehicle east of the Avalanche parking area at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
