Thousands are preparing for a statewide earthquake drill tomorrow and Jennifer McKee with the Commissioner’s Office reminds Montanans not to assume their homeowner’s insurance policy will cover damage caused by an earthquake because—chances are, it probably doesn’t.
A small earthquake rattled Missoula this morning. The earthquake is reported to be a magnitude 3.2 and there have been no reports of damage so far. The earthquake occurred around 7:15 according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Follow this link to see the seismograph for yourself.
A mild earthquake rattled Western Montana just before noon on Friday. Director of Earthquake Studies at the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology in Butte, Mike Stickney has the details of the temblor. My interview with Professor Stickney is attached.
