The International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 2457 Missoula Rural Fire Fighters, and the Missoula Rural Fire District will once again be trading our normal blue uniform shirts for pink ones during the entire month of October, in support of cancer awareness month.
Some promising new research has surfaced that indicates that tall people are less likely to suffer strokes, psychotic breakdowns or die from heart disease than the shorter of the breed. However, the same research says that these same vertically-endowed humans are doomed at best, to die of cancer.
During the barbecues and pool parties of summer, many people lose track of how much sun exposure they’ve had — and wind up with a nasty burn. New technology in the form of a wristband could change that, and lower the rates of skin cancer along the way.
