The long wait for funds to build a new Missoula College is almost over. The Montana Legislature approved a direct appropriation of $29 million dollars as part of the governor's jobs bill, and now awaits his signature.
House Bill 240 went before the Senate Education Committee on Monday. The bill, written by Gary Marbut, President of the Montana Shooting Sports Association, would make it legal for any registered gun owner to carry their weapon anywhere on campus.
Three Montana state senators on the Education and Cultural Resources Committee in Helena have commented on the upcoming hearing to confirm or reject Pat Williams as a member of the Montana Board of Regents on March 20.
