The Lumina foundation recently published a report called "A Stronger Nation Through Higher Education." The Director of State Policy for the Lumina Foundation, Elizabeth Gutierrez spoke with KGVO news about the nation's progress and Montana's progress in particular.

Montana’s numbers are up to 40% from 37.8% in 2008 and it is currently ranked 19th among the states in college attainment. Even though Montana is doing better than the national average, it is unlikely to achieve the Lumina Foundation's goal of 60% before the target year of 2025 unless some drastic changes occur.
