Just before 4 a. m. on Wednesday, Missoula City Fire crews were dispatched to a structure fire at 2116 South 4th Street West.
Assistant chief Jeff Brandt says the crews found smoke and fire coming out from the structure and deck on the alley side of the building, and all occupants were safely out of the house when crews arrived.
the 3 engine companies, 1 ladder company and the Battalion chief extinguished the fire and contained it to the exterior of the house and the deck area. Brandt says some of the vinyl siding had melted, and there was some damage to a vehicle that was parked near the deck.
Damage is estimated at about $25,000, and the investigation into the fire’s origin is underway.
